Japanese Name

Mitsuko
Your Japanese name should be

'Mitsuko

which means "child of light".

You're a very optimistic person and spread out
your happiness! You're a real social butterfly;
you love to be around people and can't stand
staying home alone too long. You're really a
bright, shining light!

Which Japanese name fits you best?

Heehee, that makes me special, right?

Fluffy, how far have you sunken to?

Darn Rita

So, Rita has not sent a drop of rain over here, and not a blow of wind. Boring, boring, boring.

Boring.

It's now category 1.

At least people will be more safe - A third grader, Sarah, her grandma lives in Beaumont and didn't evacuate. I hope she's alright.

Not Dead Yet

Hey, I'm not dead yet. But I might pretend, BEN. Anyway, the storm will hit tomorrow night. It has begun to taper off east, and it went down from 5 to 4, but it still will send a good day and a half of insane storms.

DENIAL!

Ben is in DENIAL about the tornado coming to Austin. I'll prove him wrong...

We already bought brownie mix and water, luckily - all of the food is disappearing off the shelves at the HEB, and you have to go to a lot of places before you can find any water.

Yet we don't get Friday off.

Darn.

Since the fifth grade is at the outdoor school, my friend Rachel (see picture) is freaking out because her brother Avi is there. Plus, she has reason -- last time there was a storm in Austin, all of her upstairs windows blew in and made a huge mess on their carpet, not to mention the glass scattered everywhere.

"Why brownie mix?" you may ask. Well, I'll tell you. Ever since the 19(99?) tornado that came through, we've waited for another one. During that tornado, mom bought so much brownie mix that we all nearly went sick from eating all those brownies.

But they were really good.

So now, we get to relive that moment with a happee brownie. Tali cleaned out the closet (oh, I just told her thank you, aren't I a good sister?) and we put some tuna in there, just in case we can't go out for a while.

Rita (if you haven't heard) has hit category 5. Wow. The new kid from New Orleans, Eric, is very lucky that he didn't evacuate to Galveston or Houston or Corpus Christi, because they've all got mandatory evacuation. There will be deaths, I'm sure of it. Even if I don't want to be.

Austin will be PACKED. Dad's going to be working overtime (again) with all the evacuees from New Orleans and Houston AND Corpus AND Galveston. Yet we will still get wind.

Does this mean new kids in our class from the Houston JCC? I do hope so; I like new kids.

Rachel SteinB visited school yesterday, handing out little toyish-thingymadoodles. Except I knew what one thing was -- Dor and Noah got ties, and they wore them all day long. Dor's had Homer Simpson on a pile of cola cans. Noah's was just plain boring.

But I got this nice Gucci keyring thing, but I evilly double-gifted and gave it to mom for the mail key so she could keep the AC on whenever we have to get the mail out of that stupid communal mailbox.

I feel like I'm in communist Russia whenever we pick up the mail.

Anna was reading me Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging on the phone because she's out of her mind, but then mom make me get off the phone so I could clean a bit more. I had forgotten to clean off the counters, so she had a reason. But I did clear up that mess of a mess of a mess of a playroom.

I don't even know why I write, nobody reads it.

Why bother?

Why not?

Whatever. I'm reading Wurst Case Scenario which is very, VERY funny, it should be happiness on earth. It's about a vegan who goes to college in Wisconsin. AKA, Dairyland. She's funny. And self-centered, but what the heck.

Jared called. I didn't call him back. I should be disciplined.

Peace

Social mobility is more important than peace.

Rita

Texas will be getting a pretty good blast of hurricane Rita. Right near me - there'll be tornadoes and I won't have power. See you after :-P

Hopefully George Bush will act more promptly this time.

To Benjamin Goodman

Doughnuts!

Daddy actually bought doughnuts! They were soooo yummy. I don't like Krispy Kreme as much as Dunkin' Donuts, but still, yumyumyum! Yum. And he let us have two each. Mom's escaping from us today, and hopefully she'll come home...eep!

I'm doing my homework without being asked! I'm such a good little child. Or a desperate little child, not wanting to sink into the depths of C-hood.

Judaics homework is boring...at least I have books to read. And Katie is coming back to her dad's house tonight! YAY!!! Somebody to be with!

And I promised Jared I would come over to see his new kitten. It's sorta funny - he's a complete goth wannabe, yet he has a kitten (he says it's cute) and it's called Cassandra! To you oddities reading this out there, is Cassandra the name of some evil god?

Quote

It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets. - Voltaire

Oooh, it's a good description!

Maniac killer
You are a maniac killer.
It doesn't matter who they are and what they
have or haven't done. You still want to kill
them. And for a simple reason only; it's fun.
Seeing people in pain is like ecstasy. Maybe
you have some sort of mental problems or you
are this way because of previous deep scars,
only you know. But now you are sadistic and
maybe you only like to see a special group of
people be in pain (e.g. preps). However you are
not the most social person in the bunch and
people think you are weird. That bothers you
somewhat but atleast you can entertain yourself
with daydreaming about killing them. After all,
they have no idea what's coming.

Main weapon: Explosives and torture

Hehe, new approach to democratisms...

Groundedness is over!

I have been de-grounded...

I tried to take 35 books from the library, but mom said I could only do 5. So I took the 5 Aryeh was allowed to bring and since he didn't take out any, I just took out an extra five. Yay.

Oh, and to CYJ

Oy, this weekend is CYJ! Noyech's bar mitzvah is a weekend-long one at his expensive camp, but all my gal-friends are going to be there, plus the twinfolk, Ben, and hopefully that new kid from New Orleans.

Have I mentioned him? He's really really nice! He's open to new things (I offered him some seaweed, and he actually liked it), he doesn't act like a pervert...I suppose I'm used to that in boys...and he isn't an idiot flirty...DO NOT KILL ME FOR SAYING THIS...man-whore like Sam Solomon. Good kid. Lost a lot, I suppose he has a reason to be quieter than the rest. I sure hope he stays the year as his choice, not being forced to stay or anything.

Anyway. I'm packing up for CYJ, printing out some homework, and calling up Anna, and chatting with Jacob...all at the same time.

Plus I'm listening to REA play his trumpet. He's really not bad; he's only played for about a week, and he's getting good sound out of it.

And he's not coming to CYJ.

Bored but happee

I finished my homework. Good for me. I killed some time. Good for me. I saw Ellie and Ben and Aaron. Good for me. God I'm bored. Good for me.

New Domain?

I know you thought I was joking when I said this, Ben, but I'm going to be buying the domain: http://www.rachelsplantotakeovertheworld.com. I haven't bought it yet, but soon enought I'll be a domained person. Yay!

Oh, last night's sleepover was SO MUCH FUN! It was at Rachel's house and Sarah and Anna came too. We ate pizza in the pool in our underwear. Then we rented the movie Anastasia and made fun of the little bat.

Darn this War for Dad

Good god. So, I went to the convention center with dad to help out with the refugees, but I (the bad daughter) just walked over to Las Manitas (where my friend Anna works) and luckily I caught her right when they were counting up today's earnings. I do love the restaurant business...but Anna's working again today. Anyway, I caught her and we went through the bat festival that was going on today; I got a megaphone, a free slide, a mug, and a little metal worm. So then we went to her house, and my dad called and told me...take a deep breath...that he had to stay at the convention center until 8:00 AM THIS MORNING!!!

honestly. seriously. egad.

After the Revolution

Selfish

I am the most selfish, stupid, nasty person on the planet.

Honestly. I was sorta expecting my dad and I to have time together while my mom's gone (I might end up spending the night alone if dad stays 'till 4 AM), but dad and I aren't going to get to see each other at ALL.

So, I'm jealous of the people who get my dad.

Go figure.
